Not the VC per se since it has a point source HF limit of a ~ 4" dia' pipe [~13543"/sec/pi/4" = ~1072 Hz] and why some early 12" wide range radio/console drivers had as small as ~ 3/4" dia. VCs, but if the diaphragm it's attached to has sufficient curvature combined with the TL and breakup modes to reach the extreme HF.
In short, typical cone/dome drivers are only point sources up to the VC's pipe cut-off, shifting at best to euphonically pleasing noise for the rest of its usable BW.
